Video Game Designer

Duties and responsibilities: Video Game designers code and program visual effects in games. They can create complicated 3D characters using modeling programs and animation software. They must be able to create a real version of the game's concept and story line. The art and characters must work with the story-board so that it enhances the story, the player has to feel part of the story and using visuals helps with that. Video Game Designers must also check for any bugs or glitches in the game. These people have to test out the game themselves to see if anything has to be re-coded or if there are any flaws in the game. Video Game Designers work in groups to be able to create games that are coordinated in their stories and their visuals. Part of the group may only work in create the backgrounds and scenery for the game while the other work on character design or focusing on the animation.

Salary: $45,000-$90,000

Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in game design/computer science, high school diploma, experience with 3D modeling and software programs.

Demand for this particular career: slow demand, only growing by 6%

Reflection: Would you like to become one? Why? Why not? I would like to become a video game designer because I am interested in a job that both has me able to work in coding and programming, as well as animation and art. I would like to be able to be a part of a game and create a story that can be shown beautifully with visuals to the game players.

  CTR people are people who choose the right for themselves, they must do their best everyday and always choose to do their absolute best. When you are a good human being you become a champion at life. Who would not want to be a champion at life. Becoming a CTR person is easy because all you have to do is do the right thing by choosing the right.You can do whatever you like by becoming a CTR person, it is the best thing to possibly be. CTR people are hard working, respectful, kind, caring, and so many other good things. Being a CTR person is what everyone should aim to be because it is the best you-you can be! CTR champions are people who are responsible, loyal, honest, and people who try their best everyday, and all the time.

Environmental Health Specialist

  Duties and Responsibilities: Environmental health specialists are skilled people who are in charge of public safety. They do their jobs by making sure that public places/workplaces meet the safety standards. Environmental Health Specialists may work for the federal, state, or local government. These people must risk their own safety to be able to provide public safety. They must test many things in the building to make sure that everything is up to code. These things include testing the quality of the water, food, underground storage tanks, potentially bio-hazardous items, and more. They take samples of everything that can be potentially dangerous and they test their samples at the lab.

  Salary: $55,000-$80,000

  Education: Bachelor's degree, 1-3 years of training/experience

  Reflection: Would you like to be one? Why? Why not? I would not like to become a environmental health specialist because it is a career I do not find interesting, I would rather be a doctor than spend the day at a lab testing samples.

"Goal setting is goal getting. Set and get." -Mark Victor Hanson

I really like what Mr. Hanson said about how to get your goals, it is very inspiring.  The first step to achieve your goal is to create one, easy as that. It does not have to be complicated to achieve your goal. Once you create your goal , achieving it will be a bit easier, taking small steps at a time is less overwhelming. Even small goals are worth setting and getting. Examples would be like wanting to finish your homework as soon as you get home everyday. If you set many small goals that go hand in hand with your bigger goals you will feel better and less reluctant to do it. The best way to do something is to try, setting your goal is the first step that will lead you to success. If you decide to Get all A's this semester you can do it if you try your best, once you set your goal nothing will be able to stop you. It is good to set goals for yourself because you should challenge yourself and test your boundaries. If you do not set any goals in life you will not improve, you will just stay in place and not want to do anything better than what you can currently do. Our goals motivate us to do better and to become the best that we can possibly be, all it takes is for you to begin by setting the goal and committing to it.

Columbus Day

 Christopher Columbus was born in 1451 in Genoa, Italy. He worked on a merchant ship until the year 1470, the boat sank but Columbus was able to float to shore on a piece of wood. He floated all the way to Lisbon, where he began to study mathematics, astronomy, and navigation, it was at that time he began to plan his explorations. It was the end of the 15th century when Columbus decided to find an easier way to get to Asia from Europe. Columbus had ideas that he showed to Spanish monarchs and they formed an agreement that whatever riches they found at the location, Columbus may have 10% of it. They also agreed on giving him a noble title and to let him govern any lands he encounters. Columbus wanted to be rich and famous. On August 3,1493 Three ships set sail from Spain, but they did not find Asia, their unexpected destination was the islands of the Caribbean. In September 1493 Christopher traveled to the Americas on October 12,1492, where he left his two brothers in charge of things. Christopher Columbus was sent back to Spain in chains because of his two brothers’ terrible management. Christopher Columbus did not discover the Americas, but he inspired people to travel and discover the rest of the world.

  Columbus Day is a day dedicated to Christopher Columbus, it was they day he arrived in the New World on October 12, 1492. I do not agree with what Christopher Columbus did in the Americas, but I can appreciate the bravery it took to go out and try to find Asia even though he was wrong most of the time. He must have been very determined to find new land if he did not give up after many voyages.

I agree with Faust that choosing to be obedient does not feel like a chore once you have been obedient enough. Trying to be obedient feels like a chore only when you refuse to do the task. Being obedient does not feel like a chore when you do the task quickly and move on to whatever you were doing. The task does not disappear, you would still have to do it so the best option is to get it over with. Doing your homework is being obedient to yourself and your teacher, the work you are choosing to ignore will still be there. When you do your work as soon as you get home you will be stress free and not have to feel like you are wasting time the rest of the day. Once you take the first step to improve, you will get better and that will be your building block. You will become more efficient at doing certain tasks like studying or washing the dishes. Being obedient towards your family shows them how responsible you are, they will show you that and you will be encouraged to do your best at even simple things. Being obedient is choosing to be the best you can be, once you realize that doing tasks that seem unnecessary to you now become ordinary tasks that you will be happy with doing.

Pharmacy Technician

Duties and responsibilities: Pharmacy Technicians are people who work in pharmacies that are responsible for handling prescription drugs. They refill prescriptions when necessary and they provide the proper drugs to the customer with the prescription. Pharmacy technicians are also in charge of organizing the medicine and write reports about the supply and inventory. They must be able to provide good customer service to provide the best care. Pharmacy Technicians work in pharmacies, drugstores, grocery stores, hospitals, nursing homes, or medical facilities. In bigger workplaces, pharmacy technicians would work by themselves most of the time, other pharmacists tend to try to help the other patients in the meanwhile.

Salary: $27,000-$31,000

Education: High school diploma, Formal training, State requirements

Demand for this profession: growing by 9% by 2024

Reflection: Would you like to be one? Why? Why not? I would like to become a Pharmacy Technician because it is a profession that is growing in demand and I would like to be able to help people with their health and be able to provide them the medicine they need. It seems like a nice thing to work in customer service but still be able to provide medical assistance.
