Pharmacy Technician

Duties and responsibilities: Pharmacy Technicians are people who work in pharmacies that are responsible for handling prescription drugs. They refill prescriptions when necessary and they provide the proper drugs to the customer with the prescription. Pharmacy technicians are also in charge of organizing the medicine and write reports about the supply and inventory. They must be able to provide good customer service to provide the best care. Pharmacy Technicians work in pharmacies, drugstores, grocery stores, hospitals, nursing homes, or medical facilities. In bigger workplaces, pharmacy technicians would work by themselves most of the time, other pharmacists tend to try to help the other patients in the meanwhile.

Salary: $27,000-$31,000

Education: High school diploma, Formal training, State requirements

Demand for this profession: growing by 9% by 2024


Reflection: Would you like to be one? Why? Why not? I would like to become a Pharmacy Technician because it is a profession that is growing in demand and I would like to be able to help people with their health and be able to provide them the medicine they need. It seems like a nice thing to work in customer service but still be able to provide medical assistance.
