"We learn to do by doing."-Spencer W. Kumball
I agree  with this quote because the best way to learn how to do anything is to practice and practice over again. this goes for about every thing in life, any skill you would like learn takes effort if you would like to get good at it. Practicing goes for about any thing , an example is becoming better at a sport like soccer,  people who practice playing everyday become more experienced and familiar with the game and overall become better than the people who only practice a few times a week. It also goes for skills like painting, if you don't paint often and don't practice frequently you will not be able to improve as efficiently as you would like to be. In school you learned to read and write by practicing every day as much as you could, you tried and tried and tried again, and eventually thanks to practice you became an efficient reader and writer. school is a great example that we learn by doing because we learn many of the things we know at school, we practice everyday to become better writers, readers, typers, players, and better students. Experience is the fastest and the best way to lern anything, whatever you do is experience that has helped you improve, whether it is your everyday life, or if it is trying to become better at a video game. Reading tips and tricks only go so far when you don't practice. The reason why athletes and amazing artists seem to be so amazing and extraordinary is because they have practiced to become what they wanted to be, they learned by doing.

"Make your life your own adventure story."-Katherine Balcarcel

I believe that if you do not ever take chances in your life you will only end up disappointing yourself. What is the point of living your life just following the same old rules if you know that if you take a chance you could do something even better. Taking a chance would be challenging yourself, an example of that would be aiming for a better education by getting yourself in above average classes. Another example would be going all out on a project by making a detailed and informative show instead of just making a boring poster. You can also take risks by doing something you would have never tried before, like learning how to skate or learning how to create pottery. As long as you take risks you will be able to prove that you can do anything. Another way of taking a risk is by going to new places and interacting with people, going out there and being social can lead to good and bad things. A simple risk to take is to join a club about something you are interested in even if you do not know anyone in the club. You might meet an amazing friend if you go outside but if you don't take a chance you might regret staying at home and doing nothing that day. Even if it's a risk like going to the movies by yourself you will be able to enjoy the experience. Try to live life without regrets, because later on the only thing you will  focus on is how you tried a completely new experience. be able to live your life in the best way possible, make sure it is a story that you will want to tell your grand-kids one day. Your life is about creating the most amazing experience for yourself, to make your own adventure story.

“Obedience is central to becoming, being, and remaining happy.”-David Bednar

I can happily agree with David Benar that Obedience is central to becoming, being, and remaining happy because it is a simple thing to do, it is easy and it feels good to be obedient. Being obedient is just doing what you are told, it is simple and easy to do but it you have to want to do it. An example of being obedient is when your teacher tells you to do your homework or study for a test. Obedience can also be to do your laundry and take out the trash. Obedience is doing your job like writing reports or educating kids, or even to just put mail inside mailboxes. Obedience takes place in many forms, it is our choice whether we are going to obey or not. When you obey and do what you are told you get many things to your benefit. If you do all your chores and take care of anything else you need to do as soon as you can you can get more free time to do things that make you happy. Those activities can include anything you like, but if you spend your whole day being stubborn and not doing what you are told you will not have the time you could have spent doing something you enjoy. Like if you study for your test and read the chapters you can do whatever you like when you are finished, you will be rewarded with the guarantee that you will be prepared for your day tomorrow and with happiness. When you do what you are told at your job you will get awarded for your obedience, it shows your boss you are a good worker that they can count on, people will appreciate what you do and will want to reward you with something that shows it.

LAUSD Student Services

LAUSD provides many useful things for their students that want to know more on how to prepare for their future. Some of these resources include Advanced placement information, and PSAT and SAT information on the LAUSD.net website. There are many links that can help with preparing for college. You can find on the website how to improve or begin on your Personal Statement for colleges. There are also many links that can help provide you with the information to find your perfect college. There are also links to websites that have scholarship information and other things that will help you as a student. There are even links for funding opportunities, they also have information regarding jobs and how to apply for one, etc.
Reflection: There are too many useful tips and tools to not use any of them. I will definitely use the links under Find a college that is right for you to help me decide what college to go to and what classes I should take. I am will also take advantage of the Career links to help me on my journey on how to apply for a job when I am in school or just apply to one in general. Since colleges and college classes are expensive I will look through the scholarships and hopefully I will be accepted by one and get a full ride for my education. It is better to have your education paid for then to have student debt . With all these services, it would make no sense not to use them when they will help you make yourself a better future.

"Choosing the right is always the right thing to do."-Alex Linares

If you choose the right you are doing everything well and to the best of your ability. Nothing can go wrong if you choose the right choice and you try your best and be better every day. If you choose the right and do all of your work on time and you make sure it is your  best work you will not have to worry about stressing out about the assignment the night its due. You also will not have to worry about your grade if you know you did your best and that it shows in your work. There is a reason choosing the wrong is a bad thing, there are consequences to any risky actions, it is better to do what you have to do than have to do even more work as a consequence because you chose the wrong. Doing your chores and your homework early is choosing the right, doing something nice for your friend or family member is choosing the right. There are so many ways to do the right things, and it feels great once you do them, why would anyone choose the wrong? You cannot fail or regret anything you do in life if you choose the right. Choosing the right is being a great person and striving to become your best everyday no matter what tries to get in your way. It is your life and your decisions that you have to make, make sure you are going in the right path, and that path is choosing the right.

"What you are as a person is far more important then what you are as a basketball player."-John Wooden
I agree with John wooden because it doesn't matter what your career is if you are not a good person. Being a good and respectable person is far more important than being a basketball player. It is better to be appreciated for being a great person than for your career because  you are more than your career, whether you wan't people to define you as only by your job is up to you. Even if you are good a a job you would have less of a chance of getting it if you don't act like a respectable being. You could be the most famous athlete in the world, but you won't be able to really appreciate everything you've done if you don't do good things, being well-rounded feels better than just being great at one thing. You have to treat others the way you would want to be treated, you have to act like a good person especially if you are a role model for many people. You should be proud of everything you do, not just one thing in your life, what you are as a person defines you, not your career or any one thing in your life.

Reflection: Would you like to be one? Why? Why not? I would like to become an animator because I enjoy to draw and to create my own stories and be able to show them in an artistic and lively way. It would be nice to work with a group of people to storyboard for a cartoon one day. I have always admired how lively animators can make 2D characters look.

"True wealth is of the heart, not of the purse."-Pathros

In this quote, I believe true wealth means happiness, "...not of the purse." meaning that money is not the true wealth. Money may not be able to buy happiness, but it still is a necessity in life. In this quote happiness is called the "true wealth", meaning that it is better than money, and i agree. If you are happy with what you have, then great! If you are not happy with what you have, then it is your job to change it for the better. You get happiness through actions and being the best you can be, earning what you want in life. Working hard gives you happiness, money can only make you happy for a small time, people are happier and prouder of themselves when they work hard for something and they achieve their goal. Lets say you really want't to be in a sports team, you think it will be great, so you try your best by practicing and playing daily, but the you decide it is too hard and decide to try a different approach. You get on the sports team, but because of the wrong reasons. Do you really feel happy after that? Doing it fair and square gives you something that cheating can't, satisfaction, self-confidence, and happiness. The best way to be happy is to do your best and to never give up on what you're dreaming of.The quote is basically saying that  if you follow your heart you will get the greatest thing of all, happiness.

"You cannot do wrong and feel right. It is impossible."-Ezra T. Benson
I agree with Benson that if you do something bad you can't feel right, it is natural to feel guilty or bad if you do something bad. To feel good, you must do something good. If you do something bad you should fix the situation so you or the the person won't feel bad. No one feels good when they do something bad like forgetting someone's birthday, or when you don't study for a test, you'll feel bad but you have to fix the problem and remember to not make the same mistake ever again. Let's say you stole something from a liquor store for no good reason, you never feel completely without guilt, you would be ashamed of yourself. It is easy to feel right, just don't do anything that would make you feel wrong. If you say something you weren't supposed to say, then apologize to that person and make it up to them. Nobody deserves to feel wrong because of another person's actions. 33
when people do more severe things like lie to someone or do something horrible the person who caused those actions never forget. They always remember what they did, they always regret it. If you do what you are supposed to do and choose to be a good person, you will feel right. You will be able to sleep peacefully at night knowing you did something good that makes you feel good everyday. That is way better than being miserable because you did a bad thing.

"When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad."-Abraham Lincoln
Student Success Statement

Determining whether you want to do either good or bad is up to you. If you do something bad there are consequences, if you do good there are rewards. If you do something good like finishing all your homework before the night before it's due, you will feel good! You have rewarded yourself more free time to do whatever you like. You can finish your show on Netflix, you can do one of your hobbies, you can chill with your friends, it's all up to you. If you do bad on the other hand there will be consequences to your actions. If you don't finish your homework or classwork because you didn't feel like it then you will feel bad for getting a bad grade. You can prevent having to waste your free time on work by doing what you are supposed to, which is good. You will feel good about getting time to relax, but you will not feel good if you can't go outside with your friends because you did something bad. You can do your best and feel good by choosing to do good, Abraham Lincoln chose to do good for his country so he became president and changed the bad when no-one else would.

Obedience
"The key to freedom is obedience. The more obedient we are, the more freedom we have,"-Boyd K. Packer

More or less what Packer says is true, obeying to your parents leads to you being responsible, the more responsible you are, the more freedom you will get.
Obeying to come home at 10:30 or obeying to wash the dishes is simple enough, might as well do it, especially if you'll get more privileges later on. Obeying to your teachers and bosses can also lead to freedom. If you pass all your classes by doing what you're told, you will get to graduate and move on with your life. Getting out of high school is enough freedom, at lest until you start college or a job. Just make sure that when you do what you're told that other people won't be harmed by your actions. Obeying someone in jail or in a gang is probably a really bad idea anyway. If you do your work well in college you will get the job(s) you've always wanted, and you get to follow the career of your choice. Once you get older you get to make your own decisions, being obedient helps you make some decisions. It is true that you get more privileges if you're obedient, other people would appreciate that and you and will like to give you the freedom you deserve.
911 Memorial
There were four coordinated attacks that happened that day on September 11, 2001. The locations were the World trade center, The pentagon, Shanksville, and Manhattan. Around 3,000 people dead that day. Four planes crashed, all because of the terrorist group al-Qaeda hijacked 4 planes. Many firefighters were killed that day. The world trade center in New York collapsed. One of the planes that was hijacked crashed because the passengers fought the hijackers. The world trade center collapsed. I was born after the attacks but my first memory of completely understanding what had happened was when I was in elementary, there was an assembly the helped us understand what happened that day.
I don't know how else to feel about what happened, it was an attack on America that changed everyone's lives. More people could have survived maybe, I cannot imagine how it would be to see a building with so many people collapse in front of me, the passengers who fought the hijackers were so brave even though most of them probably knew that they wouldn't survive.

Obediance

"Obedience is the great test of life."-Thomas S. Monson
How you obey and what you obey to shows potential bosses how loyal and how good of a listener you are. It is important to know what to obey to though. It is good to obey your parents and your teacher, but not everyone has good intentions. Obey to what you know is the right thing to do, make sure your actions are not for bad reasons. Do not obey to bad people, they will most likely use your obedience to do something bad to someone else. They may even use your obedience to do something that will only benefit themselves. Obeying to your parent's shows that you listen and that you are a respectful person that does the job when needed. Obeying to your parents to throw out the trash isn't going to hurt anyone. Obeying your teacher to do your homework is for the best, obeying to things like  that is what shows how good you can be in the real world. If you do what you're told it will be easier for you in life. If you are told to do something before the due date then just do it! It is better for you to waste some time by doing it early than stressing out whether you are going to finish it the night before it's due.
