Neurosurgeons
Duties and Responsibilities: Neurosurgeons are physicians who perform surgery on the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. The may do the surgery to remove tumors, relieve chronic pain, and treat wounds. They may also treat vascular disorders/ diseases like Parkinson's or epilepsy. They treat disorders like scoliosis and degenerative spine disorder. They must have steady hands and the ability to perform microsurgery and other advanced and delicate equipment.
Salary: $410,000-$750,000
Education Requirements: Doctorate in medicine, 6-8 yr residency, 1 year internship, License and Certification
Demand: To grow by 24%
Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not? I would like to become a neurosurgeon if my hands were steady enough for the position. It seems to be a difficult and respectable job that earns a lot of money so... *shrugs*
