I agree with Count Leo Tolstoy that we would like to make the world a better place but without changing  ourselves first we cannot create anything life changing. We would all like to see poverty and sickness be taken care of but we will not open our minds to actually do anything about it. I think that we all are very full of ourselves but refuse to admit it. If the problem does not affect us directly we might acknowledge it but also ignore it. We cannot expect people to become happier and better if we refuse to change ourselves. I think that people refuse to change themselves because they do not want to feel like they are the problem we are trying to fix. Change requires action but action requires courage and selflessness, no one wants to take a chance anymore. We are all so worried about ourselves that we turn a blind eye to problems that are not yet our own. The people who have an easier chance to change things for the better just continue with their lives as if their world is perfect.
