Healthcare Administrator

Duties: Healthcare Administrators have to manage the business of health care. They are in charge of maintaining budgets, looking after the staff and other personnel, ensure that everything is under code for state and federal regulations, and they must make everything as efficient as possible. One of the main things healthcare administrators do is that they make sure everything is as efficient s possible while it is still under budget. They must be able to manage everything and provide the best health care service they can. Most Healthcare Administrators work for public healthcare systems or hospitals. They may also be in charge of billing and schedule changes.

Salary: $85,000-$100,000

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in public health/nursing

Demand for this profession: To grow 22% by 2020


Reflection: I would like to become a healthcare Administrator because I like to organize and plan meeting and such. It is just technical work and that is fine for me. I would have to be in charge of the staff and making sure they all get to where they need to go at the proper times. It seems like a profession that would keep me busy.
